  • Lion qui marche (Walking Lion)
  • signed: BARYE inscribed: F. BARBEDIENNE. FONDEUR. and stamped with the gold FB
  • bronze, dark and golden brown patina

Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is very good. There is some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age with some minor scratches to the hind legs and a nick on the right side in the middle of the tail. There is some dryness to the patina in the crevices, particularly around the manes. Some small spots of greening are on the proper left upper front leg and to the base in front of that leg. There is a further area of faint spots on the top of the haunches near the base of the tail. The sides of the base have some remnants of glue.
