Overall the condition of the wood is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The relief primarily consist of two pieces of wood joined together and a horizontal joint is visible running through the middle of the relief. There is minor splitting to the wood consistent with the material. There appears to be restoartion to the plant in the lower left corner. The Putto with a telescope has lost the thumb on his proper right hand and there are minor losses to the fingers. There is a small loss to the scroll near the lower right corner. There are a few small losses to the plant at the bottom near the centre. There are a few knots in the wood consistent with the material. There is a small wood insert in the irght side of the relief. There is another insert just above the shield, which has dark colour. It appears that the border never went to the very bottom of the relief.
