Condition
There is wear to the surface throughout. There are a number of restored breaks, including to the necks of the figures and two further horizontal breaks to the Virgin's body. Christ's hands are lost (there is a wood insert in one of the lacunae) and the Virgin's proper left hand is lost. There are losses to the coronet, in particular at the back. The Virgin's feet are lost and there are losses to the ground and to the folds of her drapery. There are a number of smaller losses, including to the drapery. A hole to the Virgin's lower back has been filled with organic material. There may be smaller restorations, including to the drapery and ground. There are remnants of original polychromy and gilding. There is a loss to the back of Christ's head; there are small holes here, possibly for a reattachment or a coronet. There is an iron mount to the back and a small drill hole to the underside.
