Condition
There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a number of restorations, including to the tops of the arms. There may be further restorations to the head, excess perizonium folds and to the fingers. There is splitting throughout consistent with material, in particular to the neck and proper left side of the body. There are losses to the toes, possibly due to worming. There are also a few losses to the fingers, in particular to the index and little fingers of the proper right hand. There are a few more minor losses, including some of the thorns from the crown and to the edges of the drapery. There is wear to the polychromy throughout and the polychromy may have been refreshed at some time in the life of the sculpture.

Catalogue Note
The manner in which the musculature of the torso of Christ is defined compares well to a corpus from a now dispersed Crucifixion group in the church in Hasselt, Limburg.
