- A Young Shepherdess with a Goat
- white marble, on a black marble base
- Italian, 19th century
Condition
Overall the condition of the marble is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some dryness to the marble surface, including to the hair and to the goat. The goat's tail, proper right ear and proper right horn are reattached. There is some minor veining to the marble consistent with the material. There are two slightly open veins to the proper right foot and to the bottom of the crook. There are a few very small abrasions and naturally occurring inclusions, including one or two to the face. There are a few small chips to the proper left foot and to the edges of the ground. There are a few dark spots to the back of the goat and rock. The black marble base is in good condition with minor wear.
