  • Bust of a Young Woman
  • white marble on a possibly associated white marble socle
  • English, 19th century

Condition

Overall the condition of the marble is good with minor dirt and wear to surface consistent with age. There are a few small naturally occurring inclusions, inlcuding one or two filled and dirty inclusions to the chest. There is a larger chip to the back fo the bust. There is a small vein/impurity above the proper right eye. There are a few yellow marks on the proper right side of face and upper neck and a few dark spots in the hair. There is veining to the socle consistent with the material and there are a few residues of old labels. There are also a few chips to the base of the socle and base of the bust. There is some plaster to the back of the bust, on the right. The bust is slightly loose on the socle and is held in place by a wood pin.
