Catalogue Note

First editions of Kissinger's recollections of President Nixon's two terms in office, inscribed to McNamara. The half-title of White House Years reads: "To | Robert NcNamara | One of the truly noble men | that I have met | With the admiration and | affection | of his friend | Henry A. Kissinger."  In Years of Upheaval, Kissinger pens: "To | Robert McNamara | A staunch friend and | guide through troubled times | With affection and | admiration | Henry A. Kissinger."
