First edition, inscribed by Robert F. Kennedy to the McNamaras on the front free endpaper: "For Bob & Margie | from their friend | Bob Kennedy." JFK edited all and wrote one of the twenty collected essays about his eldest brother Joseph P. Kennedy, who was killed in 1944 while serving in the United States Navy.
