A group of 25 documents, 1963-1965, being chiefly photocopies of memoranda regarding the import and export of copper, protecting American copper interests in Chile, price rollbacks of copper from Chile, U.S. stockpiles of copper for military use, the economic situation of the steel industry many marked "Secret," "Confidential," or "Eyes Only," many annotated in pencil by McNamara. Together with: a fax copy of a transcript of an ABC Nightline broadcast of a meeting between President Kennedy and Congressional Leadership, 22 October 1962, 83 pages and 6 cover sheets dated 1994 concerning the Cuban Missile Crisis, annotated and heavily underscored by McNamara; and a photocopy of a statement by Theodore Sorensen before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities, 21 July 1976 refuting JFK's involvement in assassination plots against foreign leaders (i.e., Fidel Castro, Ngo Dinh Diem), and 8 copies of the Secretary of Defense's Memoranda to Presidents Kennedy and Johnson on the Defense Department Cost Reduction Program dated 5 July 1962, 8 July 1963, 7 July 1964, 17 November 1964 (titled "Productive Civilian Uses of Former Defense Department Installations"), 12 July 1965, 8 July 1966, and 5 July 1967 (2 copies); condition generally good, the Nightline transcript yellowed.
