Catalogue Note
The recipient, Bampton Hunt, had been the Paris correspondent of the Morning Post in 1924 and was author of Folk Tales of Breffny (1912) and editor, with John Parker, of The Green Room Book; or, Who's Who on the Stage (1906-) He is not mentioned in Joyce's letters or by Ellmann. Slocum and Cahoon note that this printing is noted in the book itself as October 1925 but December 1925 in later notices. The eighth printing is dated May 1926 and the inscription is therefore in the most recently published edition.
