Catalogue Note

An extremely good copy.

Copies of the first issue dust-jacket, without mention of the Caldecott Medal, are rare. The upper flap includes the price of $3.50 in the top right corner and the correct publisher's information is present: a three paragraph blurb together with "HARPER & ROW, PUBLISHERS | 40-80 | 1163". The lower flap carries a furter three paragraph blurb.
