manuscript armorial with 106 fully coloured and captioned Scottish royal and aristocratic armorial achievements, comprising a sequence of 73 highly accomplished and attractively coloured arms, beginning with the arms of Scottish monarchs from Malcolm III to "Mary Nowe queene of Scottes maried To her seconde Houssband the Lorde Darnley", c.1580, followed by another 33 later and less finished examples, also with 9 pen and ink preliminary drawings of arms, the main sequence with a contemporary index, folio (270 x 200mm), each leaf edge-mounted in an eighteenth century album (338 x 210mm), calf backed marbled boards, light staining to pages, rebacked
