Description
thickly carved with deep rounded quadrilobed sides rising from a short oval foot, flanked on each side with scrolling foliate handles, the ivory bearing a rich toffee-brown patina, the oval base inscribed with a three-character mark Xiong Ji Sheng
Provenance
Acquired in Paris between the 1970s and the early 90s.
Condition
There are some typical circular age cracks inside at the bottom of the cup and a couple of vertical age cracks on the handles, but overall the cup is in good condition.
