Description
carved in the round as a reclining beast with prominent eyebrows and folded ears, its head turned back towards its coiled tail, its powerful legs tucked neatly under the body, the stone of a light green tone streaked with natural opaque and dark brown inclusions
Provenance
Acquired in Paris between the 1970s and the early 90s.
Condition
The calcified areas have some typical pitting and minor losses. There is some residue of wax to the underside between the two forelegs, but it can be cleaned. Otherwise, the overall condition is very good.
