Description
naturalistically carved with a recumbent deer with small fungus-form antlers, grasping a sprig of lingzhi in his mouth, his head turned backwards to his reclining fawn behind, the translucent stone of a pale celadon tone streaked with russet inclusions and natural veins
Provenance
Acquired in Paris between the 1970s and the early 90s.
Condition
Two pairs of suspension perforations have been filled. There are a few very tiny nicks to the end of the lingzhi branch, one of the antlers of the fawn and the tip of its tail (with a minute associated bruise). The russet areas have some typical pitting as well, but the overall condition is otherwise very good.
