Description
the silver body supported on a flared rectangular foot, the compressed double-gourd-shaped body of octagonal section rising to a waisted neck and lipped mouth, the bulging lower bulb inset on two sides with a white jade domed oval plaque, each plaque centred with a low-relief shou character surrounded by four of the eight bajixiang Buddhist emblems - the canopy, vase, lotus and fish, below a smaller upper bulb, similarly inset on each side with a white jade plaque decorated with a flaming wheel, all surrounded by floral blooms borne on foliate scrolls against a fine circle-punched background, the jade of even white tones slightly tinged celadon with natural veins and inclusions

Acquired in Paris between the 1970s and the early 90s.
Condition
Apart from typical tarnishing and some very minor dents, the overall condition is very good. The jade is in very good condition.
