Description

the grey and dark brown stone cleverly utilised in carving a grey deer reclining against a leafy dark brown bush with its legs folded, its head crowned with short antlers and craned back towards its body, grasping a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth, its fur along the spine clearly defined, pierced through the centre of its back with a small aperture for suspension

Provenance

Acquired in Paris between the 1970s and the early 90s.

Condition

There is a 0.2 cm bruise to the underside of a lingzhi fungus. The overall condition is quite good except for some minor nibbles and typical pits to the calcified surface.
