Catalogue Note

Johann Christoph Eckart was born around 1708 in Grimma, near Leipzig. He was educated in Naumburg, and was an apprentice in Augsburg for 12 years. He became a master goldsmith and citizen of Augsburg in 1741, and married Maria Elisabeth Eisenkramer the same year. He died on 20 March 1766.
