Condition

In overall very good condition. The gilding very slightly worn. Legible marks on the outside border, close to one handle. Assay scrape under the base. Very nice piece, good quality.

Melchior (Hans Melchior) Purtenbach (Burtenbach) was born in Augsburg.  He became a master in 1637 and married in the same year. He died in 1693.
