Condition

Dents and scratches. As stated in the catalogue, foot ;issing so later gilding, but nice colour. Marks legible on stand, near the border. Assay scrape under the stand.

Catalogue Note

Johann Pepfenhauser II, the son of a goldsmith, was born in 1666. He came from a dynasty of goldsmiths spanning the 17th and 18th centuries. He became a master goldsmith in 1697, married three times, and died in 1754.
