Condition

In overall good condition. Usual dents and scratches. A small restoration inside cover, near the finial. Very legible marks under the base. Good weight.

Catalogue Note

Willem Kalkoen, the son of Beruf Kauffman, and the grandson of goldsmith Johannes Kalkoen, was born in 1700 in Amsterdam. Willem Kalkoen became a master goldsmith in Amsterdam in 1721, and was chosen for several important posts in the local guild of goldsmiths between 1727 and 1738. He died in 1739.
