Condition

Parcel-gilt. The gilding partly worn. Some dents . The engraving on scrolls partly worn. Gilt inside. Marks legible under the base. Assay scrape under the base and under cover rim. Mermaid shaped thumbpiece.

David Ehkirch (Ehekirch) was born into a family of goldsmiths at Ulm in 1569. He became a master goldsmith in 1601, married the same year and died in 1613.
