  • the largest 17cm, 6 3/4 in long
the first, Johann Jakob Biller II, Augsburg, 1743-1745, silver, in the form of scissors, shell finials, 11.5cm, 4 1/2 in ; the second, silver-gilt,  Johann George Daniel Häberlein, Nuremberg, circa 1820, chased with medaillons of vestals within foliage, acorn terminals, 14.5cm, 5 3/4 in ; the third, silver, Josephus Hudetzisu, Groß-Steffelsdorf, circa 1820, engraved with flowers and foliage, shell finials, 13.5cm, 5 1/2in ; the last, French, 1819-1838, apparently no maker's mark, silver-gilt, embossed caryatids, shells and grapevine, shell terminal and finials, 17cm, 6 3/4 in

Catalogue Note

Johann Jakob Biller II was born 1715. He became a master goldsmith in 1746 and married the same year. Although he died in 1777, his workshop continued to operate until around 1780.
