Catalogue Note

Conrad Klein, the son of a town fisherman, was born in Schwabach, Nuremburg around 1678. He became a master goldsmith in 1709 after five years of apprenticeship with Wolfgang Rößler, and became a citizen in 1710. He married Maria Helena, the daughter of Johann Eißlers and, after her death, he married Elisabeth, the daughter of organist Georg Christoph Senhaußen. He trained five apprentices, and was buried on 31 March 1751.
