Catalogue Note
Elie Papus was born in 1713 in Perigord, France. He married Marguerite Servier on 18 February 1755 and was registered as a goldsmith and citizen of Lausanne in the same year. Five years later, the goldsmith Pierre-Henri Dautun married Marie, the sister of Elie Papus’s wife. A short time later, the brothers decided to work together and continued to do so until Papus died in 1793.
