Catalogue Note
Hermanus le Maitre was born in The Hague on 25 December 1718. He married Bartha Jacoba, the daughter of goldsmith Casper Diederick Maasmans, on 3 March 1748. He became a master goldsmith on 4 June 1749 and was active until 1769.
