Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Jacob Arent de Perponcher Sedlnitsky (1692-1761) and Maria Jacoba van Wassenaer (1707-1767), who were married in The Hague on 4 April 1727.
This Perponcher  family is recorded at the beginning of the 17th century, providing public servants, soldiers and politicians. Jacob was president of the Court of Brabant, while his son, Cornelius, was Counsellor at the Court of Holland, Zeeland and West Friesland. The Perponchers were recognized among the nobles of Zeeland in 1814 and received the title of count in 1825.
Caspar Diederick Maasman, the son of goldsmith Diederick Maasman, was born in Unna, Westphalia. He married Johanna van der Burgh of Westphalia on 6 April 1721. Maasman was registered with the guild of goldsmiths in The Hague on 7 January 1724, and was elected to several important posts in the guild between 1735 and 1766.
