Catalogue Note
This maker’s mark has been attributed to Hendrik de Wint, who was born in The Hague in 1718, married Grietie van Beekum in 1741, and died in 1797. Some of his works are housed in the Gemeente Museum in The Hague.
Reynier de Haan, the son of a goldsmith Johannes de Haan, was born in 1712 in The Hague. He became a master goldsmith in 1731, married Maria de Wint the same year, and died in 1783.
