Catalogue Note

Jacob Hendrik Stellingwerff, the son of silversmith Willem Lubertus Stellingwerff, was born in Zwolle in 1773.  He became a master goldsmith in 1803 and, in the same year, married Gesina Voorthuys.  Stellingwerff died in November 1823, but his widow continued to run his workshop until 1849.
