Catalogue Note

"In Transition Team, Tansey translates complexity theory into a complex artistic practice by pushing and pulling the trait of deconstruction in opposite directions. Less iconophobic than Derrida, Tansey not only works at the edge of represenation but works with the edges of representations to create pictures that are richly figurative and constantly shifting." - Mark C. Taylor (The Picture in Question: Mark Tansey and the Ends of Representation, New York, 1999, p. 131)
