Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a few fine cracks, mainly to the green pigment, notably in places along the top edge and to the central green area of the composition. There is some further craquelure in the third green square above the centre on the right edge. On close inspection there is a horizontal stretcher mark in the centre of the lower half of the composition and a very fine rub mark towards the left corner on the lower edge. There are a few unobtrusive specks of inconsistencies to the pigment at the centre of the top left quadrant. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
