The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is much brighter and more vibrant in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a few fine, scattered hairline scratches in places to the Plexiglas boxes. Upon close inspection, there are very small and light coloured rub marks to the Plexiglas at the base of the blue and pink violins and a further spot of pink residue is visible on the Plexiglas towards the centre of the left edge. The violins do not currently touch the Plexiglas in these areas, but the rubbing suggests previous contact. Apparent only upon extremely close inspection, there are two pin-pricked sized nicks to the pigment at the back left top curve of the blue violin. Some particles of pink pigment are loose in the bottom of the Plexiglas box.
