Catalogue Note

"I was looking at a lot of Agnes Martin and Frank Stella paintings, which use a linear form. Take The Creation piece for example. It has been said that music is one of the ultimate forms of abstraction; so why not make an abstract image out of something that is, perhaps, the highest form of abstraction?"
