Condition

Aluminium vehicle: A charming piece. The front and rear windscreens are currently detached and will require some attention. There are two areas of chipped and scratched paintwork to the vehicle where the front windscreen should be attached. The red Bugatti badge from the front grill of the vehicle has become detached and needs re-gluing. The cut rubber tyres are showing some signs of age and the rear left tyre is partially dislodged from its alloy wheel. The fitted leather interior is in excellent original condition. Catalogue Note

This superb model car and its finely worked wooden companion reflect Tom Perkins’ deep love of classic motor cars. This love resulted in an extraordinary world class collection and lead to a book published in 1984 called Classic SUPERCHARGED Sports Cars. His personal account describes the ‘simultaneously exciting and exasperating’ characteristics of car collecting – his own collection included supercharged Bugattis, Mercedes, Alfas, a Squire and a Duesenberg Type SJ.
