Condition

left hand broken at the wrist, the cross a wooden replacement, haircrack to top of pedestal

Catalogue Note

The entry for this figure in the Kaendler's Taxa in Febuary 1744 reads; 'Eine Nepomocenus Fügur Von ordinärer größe auf einem Postament stehend Inventiret und aus gestellt, selbigen aber Vollends zur aus arbeitung dem Bildhauer Reinickemn gegeben, hält in der linken Hand den gecreuzigten Christum und ist in gehörigen Habit gekleidet.'

Saint John Nepomuk (circa 1340-1393), a patron saint of Bohemia, was canonised in 1729 by Pope Benedict XIII.
