Condition

Overall this work is in good condition. The canvas has been relined. Under ultraviolet light there appears to be some minimal old retouching, notably above the standing cow in the foreground, and above the cows in the distance in the centre of the composition. The painting has quite a heavy varnish and it is possible that this is obscuring a clear reading of the surface. Held in a decorative gold-painted frame.
