Condition

Overall the condition of the two marbles is good with dirt and wear to the surface of the marble consistent with age. There are a number of naturally occurring inclusions to both marbles and some veining including to the left angel's chest. Ther front section of the base and foot of the right angel are reattached, they possibly could have been carved later. There is also a large loss to the underside of the base at the back left corner of the right angel and a few further losses. There is a loss to the left angel's drapery at the right side and some losses to the edges and corner of the base. There is some cement residue to the back of the left angel. The marbles have been outside with some resulting weathering to the surfaces.
