including an oval miniature of a gentleman wearing a blue coat, English school, circa 1760, 4cm. high, 1 5/8in; and three other miniatures of gentlemen, 18th and early 19th century; a circular Chinese cinnabar lacquer box; a silver pair-cased verge movement watch, London, 1817; an oval white and red glass cameo of a lady in the manner of John de Veaux, circa 1825; a Cantonese engraved mother of pearl étui case; a gilt-metal compass; and six other objects (16)
Condition
Miniature of boy in good condition; one lacking glass; one lacking back; one unmounted. Chinese lacquer box with lid broken and reglued. Watch with scratch on back, movement not currently functioning. Cameo good condition; Cantonese mother of pearl etui with mount split near hinge, containing 6 loose implements, several with ivory handles. Gilt-metal compass with case discoloured. Small lacquer comb good. Silver-gilt and crystal cross with stem cracked; 2 metal foxhead clasps discoloured; pair of gilded porcelain miniature clogs with paint flaked round edges.
