- Ormolu, enamel, brass, steel
- 21.5cm. high; 8½in.
3¾-inch enamel dial with concentric alarm hand, signed Le Roi & Fils, the movement with going fusee and verge escapement with plain balance, the striking train with spring barrel, grande sonnerie striking on two bells, the cadrature mounted on the backplate, strike/silent lever in the base, the rectangular case with concave-sided top and carrying handle, foliate mounts and paw feet; together with an associated japanned stand
Condition
Dial has damage and old repairs to centre, right winding hole and between 5 & 6, further hairline cracks throughout. Movement is complete but very dirty and, whilst just running at time of cataloguing, will require complete service and overhaul. case retains much of the original gilding but is very dirty with numerous marks, rubbing and scratches. With winder. Later associated japanned stand in poor condition.
