  • largest 13cm. high, 33cm. wide, 25cm. deep.; 5in., 1ft. 1in., 9¾in.
comprising a George III satinwood, mahogany crossbanded and marquetry rectangular stationery box with brass paw feet, a George III tea caddy with similar decoration and foliate marquetry throughout, carved to the front JR/1796, a George III parquetry and rosewood tea caddy, a further George III satinwood and harewood tea caddy and a George III oval mahogany and ebony strung casket (5)

Condition

Stationery box: very good condition. Evidence of old worm and scratched to the front, escutcheon lacking, interior later lined. Dated example: excellent condition. Repair to lock site. Interior lacking division. Parquetry box: lacking lock. loss to veneer and lifting to veneer on one short side. Interior lacking division and lining. Harewood box: good condition. Patch to crossbanding and loss to rear right corner. Loose feet. Oval casket: losses to ebony. Affected by the sun. A pleasing decorative and academic group.
