- 85.5cm. high, 113cm. wide. 60.5cm. deep. 2ft 9¾in., 3ft 8¾in., 1ft. 11¾in.
with borders of kingwood crossbanding between ebony and boxwood stringing
Provenance
Possibly acquired from Ratcliffe, Ashbury [?], 12 February 1966, 'Bow front Chest' according to Frederick McCarthy's stock books.
Condition
This chest of drawers is very decorative and nice quality. There are old marks and scratches consistent with age and use and this includes some scuffs and water marks. There are loses to the ebony stringing around the edge. The top drawer is slighty "sticky" and there is a notable verticle scratch by the escutchion. The sides with age cracks however these surfaces are stable. The handles are tarnished. There is a small hole to the panelled rear
