Hinge repaired, left side dented, some wear to gilding on raised portions.discharge mark and French control mark 1893-1970, also C incuse twice,

Catalogue Note
As the maker's mark (apparently IM a rose between) only appears on the rim of the box and is cut short, it is not possible to identify the silversmith. There is no Paris silversmith of the right date with this mark but two possible candidates could be Jean-Baptiste Meunier (IM a star) or Joseph Moillet (IM a spur-rowel) who entered their marks in 1709 and 1695 respectively.
