L'oeuvre la plus élaborée de l'organiste virtuose Louis-Claude Daquin, contenant 22 pièces arrangées en suites. Cet ouvrage contient l'oeuvre la plus célèbre de Daquin : "Le coucou". Les Trois Cadences font usage d'un triple trille singulièrement original, tandis que d'autres pièces trahissent l'influence de Couperin, et pour l'une d'entre elles, de Rameau.
