Condition

There is dirt and wear to the surface throughout including losses to the patina. There are large losses to the back left corner and the top and bottom right corners. The plaster patination may have been refreshed. Otherwise the condition is good.

Catalogue Note

Le Persan, surnom donné à Ismaïl-Khan-Aga-Mohammed vêtu à l'oriental dans la loge du Théâtre des Italiens était un inconditionnel de l'Opéra, l'Opéra Comique et des Italiens. Chaque soir, il occupait silencieusement, dans une de ces salles,  la loge à droite de l'acteur. La rareté de ce modèle réside dans sa conception ingénieuse permettant de voir une coupe complète de la loge et des ses personnages. Un exemplaire datant de 1862 ou 1867 est conservé au musée Carnavalet (inv. n° S1381).
