le plateau garni de soie (déchirures), découvrant un clavier en ébène et ivoire et un soufflet ; (pédalier manquant)
Condition
The illustration is quite accurate.
The structure, despite some woodworm holes, is solid.
The top of the régale is covered with silk which is in poor condition.
The inside is covered with a charming printed paper which is stained and torn in places due to some wood cracks.
As said in the catalogue, the pedalboard is missing and it is not in working order any longer; otherwise, it still contains the bellows and the keyboard is complete.
The instrument would benefit from a global restoration; however, it remains an interesting and uncommon testimony of music history. A similar ebonized régale-table is visible in the Music museum in Paris.
