Condition
Illustration is quite accurate, even though the gilding is actually less shiny.
Good overall condition.
The varnish would benefit from a cleaning (stains and dust): it has been slightly retouched in places (old restorations).
The colours are brighter on the drawers inside.
Traces of woodworm holes in places, particularly on the two front doors (a small wood loss on the upper edge of the left front door).
However, the structure is sound and sturdy.
Fine gilt brass mounts with a nice chasing (traces of previous knobs on the drawers inside).
As said in the catalogue, the stand is of later date (some chips on the edges).
Attractive piece of furniture with a very fine varnish decoration, full of lovely details.

Catalogue Note
