Catalogue Note
Rare: c'est la première fois que la musique de Pietro Vinci apparaît en vente publique. Il existe un seul exemplaire complet de cette édition (à Vérone) ; la première édition fut publiée en 1561. Vinci était le fondateur et principal compositeur de l'école sicilienne des madrigalistes du XVIe siècle, et hautement apprécié de ses contemporains (il est décrit sur la page de titre comme "Pietro Vinci siciliano della città di Nicosia", la Nicosie étant au nord de la Piazza Armerina). Vinci développa les expressives techniques de madrigaliste de Cipriano de Rore ("sa gamme stylistique est encore plus élevée que celle de Rore", TNG vol.26, 658). Les madrigaux sont presque tous basés sur des textes de Pétrarque.
