Catalogue Note

(TNG, 24, 354).

Rare
: we have traced no auction records for any music by this Czech composer (also known as Josef Antonín Stepán).  This volume contains Steffan's first five publications; all copies of his sixth ("Parte terza", 1771) are apparently lost . His "distinctive contribution to the Classical style and the intrinsic value of his music still await full recognition". (TNG, 24, 354).
