première édition, 3 parties (sur 5) de canto, alto et quinto, in-4 oblong, (14.9 x 20.5 cm), parties de canto et d'alto composées de 14 feuillets ([3], 24, et [1] pages] chacune, partie de quinto de 12 feuillets ([3], 20 et [1] pages), vignette de l'éditeur sur la page de titre et lettrines historiées gravées sur bois, épître dédicatoire du compositeur à son mécène Charles-Louis d'Autriche dans chaque partie, inscriptions tardives sur les couvertures.

Catalogue Note
Rare. Les quatre madrigaux finaux sont écrits pour quatre voix seulement. En dehors de cette édition et de deux recueils de messes et motets, la célébrité de Padovano repose essentiellement sur ses oeuvres pour clavier: il contribua de manière significative au développement du ricercare pour orgue. Il fut nommé organiste à la cour de Charles II en 1545 à Graz, où il mourut en 1575.
Rare. The final four madrigals are set for four parts only. Apart from this edition and two collections of masses and motets, Padovano's main claim to fame lies with his keyboard works: he contributed significantly to the early development of the ricercare for organ. He became organist at the court of the Archduke Karl II in Graz in 1545, and died there in 1575.
