Executed on white wove paper, not laid down. There is a slight waviness to the sheet and it is fixed to the overmount at the top two corners. There is a repaired sinuous tear running diagonally across the top right corner (as just visible in the catalogue illustration). A close inspection reveals four scattered tiny repaired nicks to the surface, an artist's pinhole towards the upper right edge and a 1cm repaired tear in the lower left quadrant. Otherwise, apart from some light time-staining this work is in good overall condition.

Sima Feder était une amie de Pierre Loeb grâce auquel elle rencontra Antonin Artaud, qui lui offrit en novembre 1946, son dernier ouvrage, Xylophonie contre la grande presse et son petit public (Paris, Imprimerie Davy, 1946), accompagné de l'envoi reproduit ci-dessus.
